FIFA Scatterlings Video

The Johnny Clegg Scatterlings video was used as the opening vehicle of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Draw, held in Cape Town on the 4th December 2009.

The video consisted of a 20” opening aerial sequence of our host atop Signal Hill, welcoming the world to the southern most tip of Africa. We then segue into Johnny Clegg performing a signature performance piece, whilst walking through various locations throughout Africa.

The was achieved by firstly filming Johnny Clegg’s performance, as well as, the featured extras against green screen. They were later keyed out and the background was replaced with realistic 3D images of the locales. The 3D Animation required to create the various landmarks and countries was achieved in 6 weeks. Later in online, the live action elements were seamlessly integrated into the 3D visual effects.
